Foundation of Resibras

1989

Resibras was founded on August 1, 1989. It has its headquarters and factory in the Industrial Park of Carrascas, in Palmela. At the beginning, the company's main activity was the production of plant-based resins for the friction materials industry.

Development of resins for cork agglomeration

1992

In 1992, Resibras developed and presented to the cork industry market resins for agglomerating cork granules, both for the agglomerated cork stopper industry and for the coverings industry, softs, decorative, and roller industries, among other sectors.

Development of water-based resins

2000

With the increase in recognition as suppliers and service providers for the cork industry, Resibras has expanded its product portfolio with the development of water-based dispersions that allow the bonding of natural cork to agglomerated cork bodies for application in Champagne stoppers and water-based resins for the traditional natural cork stopper market, such as sealing glues, washing, cosmetics and finishing products.

Development of resins for the rubber agglomeration industry

2007

In 2007, Resibras developed resins for the rubber agglomeration industry (SBR, NBR, EPDM, …) for the Civil Construction sector, namely for use in insulation, on floors in playgrounds, sports parks, gyms and gymnasiums, between others. At the same time, and for the paint and varnish industry sector, Resibras developed resins, taking advantage of the existing know-how with the use of raw material LCC (Liquid from Cashew Nut Shell) and its derivatives (Cardanol and Cardol).
